LITH Police: Several DUI Arrests, Underage Drinking, Pot Possession

Note: The following information was obtained from Lake in the Hills Police arrest reports. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

DUI- Drugs and Alcohol

Christopher A. Shelton, 24, 9865 Berkshire Ln., Huntley, was arrested at 3:16 a.m. Saturday, June 1, and charged with driving under the combined influence of drugs and alcohol, improper turn, improper lane use, no valid insurance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was stopped by police at Reed Road and Northbridge Drive. He was released on bond.

DUI

Carlos L. Mendez, 24, 5880 Hickory Ridge Dr., Grandville, Mich., was arrested at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Taco Bell, 231 N. Randall Rd. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level over .08, disobeying traffic control device and no headlights.

Joseph J. Krolak, 46, 1536 N. Seminary Dr., Woodstock, was arrested at 4:55 p.m. May 27, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper turn and no insurance. He was stopped by police at Lakewood and Albrecht roads. He was released on bond.

DUI, Underage Drinking

Michael Jonas, 20, 4602 Magnolia Ln., Lake in the Hills, was arrested at 5:39 p.m. May 29, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with blood alcohol content over .08, illegal transportation of alcohol and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Suspended License

Christopher S. Scaletta, 44, 280 Beach Dr., Algonquin, was arrested at 9:04 p.m. Saturday, June 1, and charged with driving while license suspended and disobeying a stop sign. He was stopped by police in the 3900 block of Peartree Drive. He was released on bond.

Marijuana Possession

Malarie Meyer, 20, 5501 Burwood Rd., Cary, was arrested at 5:02 p.m. May 30, and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, driving while license suspended, and no insurance. She was stopped by police near Berquist Marine, 8415 S. Route 31. She was released on bond.

Dustin L. Grilli, 18, 10025 Ashley Ct., Huntley, was arrested at 10:19 p.m. May 30, and was charged with possession of cannabis and improper turn at intersection. He was stopped near Algonquin and Lakewood roads. He was released on bond.

Wanted on Warrant

Heather G. Kozlowski, 20, 1052 McPhee Dr., Lake in the Hills, was arrested at 2:09 a.m. May 29, on a Kane County Warrant for failure to appear in court for a burglary charge. She was arrested on a second Kane County warrant for failure to appear in court for burglary. Bond for each warrant was set at $15,000, 10 percent applies.

Kozlowski also was charged by LITH Police with obstructing identification and not having a front license plate. She was stopped by police at Applebee's Restaurant, 251 N. Randall Rd. She was transferred to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock.

Theft- Juvenile

17-year-old Lake in the Hills boy was arrested at 5:32 p.m. May 29, and charged with theft. He was stopped by police in the 4800 block of Bordeaux Drive. He was released into the custody of a parent.

Domestic Battery

Mary L. Conklin, 58, 5522 Wildspring Dr., Lake in the Hills, was arrested at 12:29 a.m. May 27, and charged with two counts of domestic battery. She was turned over to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock.
