LITH Police Incident Reports: Appliances Stolen, Car Break-ins, Fireworks Confiscated

Car break-ins, lost items, injuries and more from Lake in the Hills Police reports and incident calls.





Note: The following information was obtained from Lake in the Hills Police incident reports. 

Fireworks Confiscated


*Police were called at 10:38 p.m. Thursday, July 4, to the 1100 block of Ash Street. Once there, police confiscated fireworks. 

*Police responded to the 1000 block of Mason Lane at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, where they confiscated fireworks. 

Appliances Stolen


A washer and dryer were reported stolen from a home in the 200 block of Ellis Road sometime before 12:53 p.m. Tuesday, June 25. The theft occurred during the previous week. 

Panhandling


Police were called to Lowe's, 300 N. Randall Rd., at 4:54 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, to a report of multiple people panhandling. 

Car Break-ins


* Miscellaneous items were reported stolen from two cars in the 4100 block of Larkspur Lane at 5:21 a.m. Wednesday, June 26. 

* Money was reported stolen from three vehicles near Point-O-Woods Court at 7:32 a.m. Wednesday, June 26. 

* A global positioning system and money were reported stolen from an unsecured vehicle sometime before 7:05 a.m. June 10, in the 1400 block of Adams St.

* A radar detector, laptop, and money were reported stolen from a car during the overnight hours of June 8, in the 1300 block of Cunat Court. 

Found Bicycles


* A Mongoose bicycle was found at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at CVS Pharmacy, 4511 W. Algonquin Rd. 

* A boys BMX style bike was found at the Skate Park, 1107 Crystal Lake Road, at 8:04 a.m. Saturday, June 29. 

* A bicycle was found in the 2700 block of Fairfax Lane at 7:09 a.m. June 6. 

Graffiti/ Property Damage


* Graffiti was found on a sign near Crystal Lake Road and Linden Street at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, July 2. 

* Graffiti was found on the inside of Larsen Tunnel, 1200 block of Pyott Road, at 10:49 a.m. Monday, July 1.

* Graffiti was found on a stop sign at 10:21 a.m. Sunday, June 30, near Algonquin Road and Blackhawk Drive. 

* A home in the 1100 block of Prides Run was damaged by a pellet gun sometime before 7 p.m. Saturday, June 29. 

* Spray paint was found on the sidewalk and nearby sign at AutoZone, 3 Crystal Lake Road, at 4:28 p.m. Thursday, June 27. 

* Three car windows were reported damaged by a a brick at 10:10 a.m. June 23, in the 0 block of Chadwick Lane. 

Traffic Accidents


* A car struck a tree near Haligus Road and Grafton Farm Drive at 2:31 p.m. Monday, July 1. Property damage only. No injuries. 

* A car struck a pole at 4:13 p.m. Monday, July 1, at Costco, 250 N. Randall Rd. Property damage only. 

* Two people were injured in a three-car accident at 3:53 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Pyott and Jessie roads. Two men, 86 and 54 years old, sustained injuries in the accident and were transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin. 

* A 46-year-old man was injured in a three-vehicle accident at Pyott Road and Viewpoint Drive  at 4:01 p.m. Friday, June 28. The man was transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin for treatment. 

* A bicyclist struck a parked car in the 1100 block of Ridgewood Circle at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 27. No major injuries reported. 

* A 46-year-old woman was injured during a two-car accident that occurred at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 25. Police said the woman complained of a back injury, but she did not need transport to a hospital. 

* A three-car accident occurred at 4:19 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, that involved property damage only. One car fled the scene, police said. 

Grill Damage


* Fire from a barbecue grill melted the siding of a house in the 3800 block of Blackberry Drive at 5:58 p.m. June 17. 

Fraudulent Use of SSN


* A Lake in the Hills resident reported on July 5 that her son's social security number was being fraudulently used. The case was turned over to the Investigations Department.

* Police received a report at 9:21 a.m. June 17, that a person's social security number was being fraudulently used.
