These people are almost always repeat offenders. This guy was even on the list and still offended again. I say let the non violent criminals out (i.e. marajuana convictions) to make room for these people to spend some extended time in prison with like minded individuals. They are not able to be rehabilitated and should be removed from society upon first conviction.

Yep let all the Marijuana convicts go as long as its non violent! If were going to waste money it better be to keep pedifile guys like this locked up rather to lock up someone for years who dealt a little weed which is better for you than alcohol. If they make a few changes in the law it will save billions over a 10 year period now who doesnt want that?

This man raped a baby and should have been in prison, I don't care if it was a decade ago. I would highly suspect this man has raped other children in the past decade and it wasn't reported. I agree with Jeff. I think marajuana should be legalized, highly regulated and heavily taxed, and I am not a marajuana smoker. This will put some drug dealers out of work and make room in our prison system to hold the people, like this man, who can not function in society properly. No politician will ever do this though, it's far too polarizing.

Agreed, Pot is not the problem. My question is, how do they enforce and tax something as wide spread as marijuana, when we can't enforce the good laws we have now and git the bad laws off the books? Much like the prison system our laws are overburdened and crowded. The whole system needs to be torn down to it's core and rebuilt, to keep guys like this buried away forever. I personally don't care if he or his family like it, or his treatment. Jail should be punishment, not an adult version of being grounded. Come to think of it this sounds a lot like our educational system too!

Easy, get delusional republicans who want to control people with overzealous outdated laws, and dems who are complicit in the rouse. There is a BIG BUSINESS over incarcerations and it has little to do with REHABILITATION!

do any of you really know why he's in jail? his psychotic daughter wanted money from her mothers will and if Lewis stays in jail her and her 2 brothers split the will 3 ways and she needs the money to pay for her lawyer because her ex husband is trying to get custody of her kids because she is an unfit mother. she has lied to all of her family members about the situation and they have all found out. that man did everything for everyone of his children and this is all over a money issue, so before you actually know what happened don't be so quick to judge someone for something they're accused of.

A psycho daughter...sounds like a product of her environment. This guy should be locked up somewhere. If it was your 2 yr old daughter he abused, I don't think you'd be sticking up for him. This guys a scumbag, but if he is innocent this time, they will find out and let him go again....I bet we see him in the police reports within 2 years.

@Brittney Ann McElman: See Story: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/10/17/2-investigators-no-charges-filed-in-abuse-that-left-baby-with-head-injury/ If you are the same person whose daughter was violently abused and thrown against a wall by your boyfriend and you lied to police to protect him, what are you doing commenting on anyone else? That Brittney inflicted just as much trauma on an innocent victim as this man. In fact, you are a lot like this man. Justifying actions just to keep your own personal satisfactions intact. How does it feel to share personality traits with a registered sex offender? That Brittney needs to look in the deep dark truthful mirror and see the serpent there.
