Joliet Man Arrested for Sex Assault in Algonquin

Lewis S. Jackson is charged with criminal sexual assault.

A 69-year-old registered sex offender faces a new sex assault charge for an incident that occured in Algonquin last week, according to a McHenry County Sheriff's Office press release.

Lewis S. Jackson of Joliet was arrested in Will County during the early morning hours of Sept. 22 after local police said he fled the scene of a sex assault that occurred in the 3100 block of East Bend Drive in Algonquin, according to the news release. 

In the most recent case, Jackson is accused of sexually assulting a female relative on Sept. 22. Jackson is charged with criminal sexual assault in McHenry County and his bond is set at $50,000.

Jackson is a registered sex offender in Illinois. 

The Daily Herald reports a sex assault charge was filed over a decade ago against Jackson. In that case, Jackson was convicted of sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl.
