Teen Arrested for Residential Burglary in Algonquin

Brendan A. Lee, 19, was arrested in connection with a residential burglary.

An Indiana teen has been arrested for a residential burglary that occurred near the Turner Camp in Algonquin.

Brendan A. Lee, 19, 480 East 830 North, Valpraiso, was arrested May 30, and charged with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, according to a McHenry County Sheriff press release.

Lee was arrested in connection with a burglary that was reported on May 18.

Lee was living at the Turner Camp, located at 1 N. River Rd. along the Fox River in unincorporated Algonquin. Members of the sheriff's Apprehension Unit located and arrested Lee, who was wanted on a warrant out of Indiana, according to sheriff's release.

During the arrest, Lee was in possession of a controlled substance and additional charges were filed, according to the sheriff. He was located at a residence in close proximity to the reported burglary.

“Investigators connected sufficient data, and through good police work, it was determined that Brendan was responsible for the previous burglary,” said McHenry County Undersheriff Andrew Zinke.

The burglary victim’s property was recovered during the investigation.

Lee is being held in the McHenry County Correctional Facility. His bond was set at $80,000, and he was scheduled to appear in court June 4, the release stated.
