Updated 3:30 p.m.: An autopsy performed Thursday morning revealed the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head, chest and abdomen, said Curt Bradshaw, deputy investigator with the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

The autopsy report is preliminary pending toxicology reports, which is standard procedure, he said. A final ruling on the manner of death will be determined at a hearing once all reports are finalized; however, the hearing is a formality and the death is accidental, Bradshaw said.
