The two occupants in the van were in stable condition at the scene Wednesday.

A male and female were in stable condition following a crash on Kreutzer Road at the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in Huntley where a vehicle ended up flipped over in a creek Wednesday afternoon, according to a Huntley Police Department press release.

The 2003 Oldsmobile was traveling east on Kreutzer before it left the roadway, striking the guardrail and then continuing down an embankment into the creek and flipping over, according to a preliminary investigation.

The female occupant was able to get out of the vehicle on her own. Fire officials extricated the male driver from the van, according to the news release.

The accident shut down Kreutzer Road between Haligus Road and Smith Drive and the Union Pacific Railroad until shortly after 4 p.m.
