Nearly 20 residents joined Grayslake law enforcement Tuesday morning for the search for missing Joey Frase. His body was found near Campbell Airport.

Family friend Jason Freeman was one of the first residents to join in today's search. He said Joey, a graduate of Grayslake Central High School, was friends with his son.

"Joey was always very respectful. He was a really nice kid."

Freeman said many community members, even those who did not know Joey personally, were moved by the report that he had gone missing and wanted to help however they could.

Grayslake resident Joseph "Joey" Charles Frase, 20, has been missing since leaving a party in the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 20, in Round Lake's Madrona Village.

Grayslake Police said Frase was last seen at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Sunday on foot in a residential area near Townline Road and Cedar Lake Road in Round Lake.

Grayslake Police issued the following statement to Patch:

We are working hard on the case. With the assistance of Round Lake PD we have checked the area Joseph was last seen, including several surrounding neighborhoods, bike paths, walking paths and fields. In addition, Air One assisted us with a search from their helicopter, all with negative results. Our detectives are speaking with several of Joseph’s friends, family and contacts reference this case.

Joey is a 20-year old caucasian male, approximately 5’11," 140 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Joey was last seen wearing a black colored t-shirt with "ASAP Rocky" written on the front, over a gray or white colored hoodie, and blue jeans.

Anyone with any information should contact Grayslake Police at (847) 223-2341.

According to an e-mail sent to Patch from a friend of the missing young man, Frase called friends shortly after leaving a party, asking if they could pick him up. Frase told friends he was lost and cold.

Frase's friends said they drove around looking for him after he called, but did not find him.

Frase, who is employed at Anthony Buick & GMC in Gurnee, did not show up for work Monday nor did he retrieved his vehicle, friends reported.

and further more, everyone on here is trying to gather info, ask questions try to sort thru this whole thing, because it is such a tragedy and heart breaking, even when you did not know the young man personally you feel for him and his family, maybe it is peoples way of coping with it. Its a discussion its not a way for people to blast each other and verbally attack anyone. or at least it should not be for that. We all should be able to voice an opinion or a thought. Its no ones fault, no one wanted this to happen, not Joey, not his family, friends or whoever's house he was or wasn't at, drank or didn't drink at. Its a tragic end to a young life.

^I completely agree with this! To point a finger at Joey's parents at a time like this is beyond unbelieveable! Steph, do you not have a heart or something? Could you not try putting yourself in our shoes who actually knew joey & cared about him. You must not have children of your own so you shouldn't make comments like that.

He's dead. People get drunk, stagger off, and freeze to death while the party goes on. Happens.

Harold Plein, what a heartless comment. If this was your child you wouldn't be spewing this type of crap. I would like to punch you right in the mouth for saying something so stupid. You are obviously an idiot. He's been gone for almost a month, and his mom still cries daily. So keep your stupid opinions to yourself, and let him R.I.P
