Blaze Damages Deck at Algonquin Home

Fire officials responded to 1426 Lowe Drive Saturday morning.

Fire officials responded to a blaze at a home in Algonquin Saturday morning. 

The fire was reported at 8:47 a.m. Saturday at 1426 Lowe Drive by a neighbor, according to an Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District press release. 

Crews arriving first on scene found a single-story home with smoke and a fire coming from the wooden deck attached to the rear of the home. The residents were able to safely evacuate the home.

Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, which affected the deck, a grill, a stroller and some children’s toys.  

The fire was put out by 8:55 a.m. Fire crews remained on the scene until 9:25 a.m. investigating the fire and securing the home.

Investigators on the scene have not yet determined the cause of the fire.  A damage amount is not yet available.

No one was injured in the blaze. 

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District received assistance from Cary, Fox River Grove and Carpentersville Fire Departments.

The Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District would like to remind everyone, with the prolonged dry weather, to be very careful with outside fires and grilling activities.
