Fire Renders Lakewood Home Uninhabitable, Family Displaced

Fire broke out in the kitchen of a home at 8930 Benoy Court on Tuesday afternoon.

A family is without a home following a kitchen fire in Lakewood on Tuesday, the Northwest Herald reports. The fire broke out at about 2 p.m. Dec. 17, at a two-story house located at 8930 Benoy Ct.

Firefighters were able to strike the blaze within 10 minutes. While they managed to contain the fire to the kitchen, the home sustained enough damage to render it uninhabitable, the Herald story states. One person was inside the house and managed to make it out of the home safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Benoy Court is located off Redtail Drive across from the Redtail Golf Course office.
