Fire in Abandoned Algonquin Home Remains Under Investigation

The blaze was reported at 370 Glenwood Court on May 5.

A blaze Saturday remains under investigation, fire officials said Wednesday.

The fire occurred in the stairwell leading from the basement to the first floor at 370 Glenwood Court. A neighbor who saw smoke coming from the home reported it at 7:52 a.m. May 5.

The damage amount from the blaze remains unclear. The home had been abandoned for well over a year and had water damage before the fire occurred, said John Greene, battalion chief for the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Department.
