Blotter: Drunken Driving Arrests; Fireworks Violations; Battery Reports

The Lake in the Hills Police Department stayed busy over the Fourth of July weekend.

Hit and Run

Lake in the Hills police are investigating a report of a delayed hit-and-run report made about 11:54 a.m. Wednesday. The crash occurred at Randall and Miller roads.

Injury Accident

Three vehicles collided about 5:28 p.m. Wednesday near Miller and Lakewood roads. A 49-year-old man complained of neck pain after the accident but was not taken to an area hospital by emergency responders.

  • A 34-year-old Woodstock man was arrested near Lakewood and Miller roads about 2:40 a.m. Thursday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol level exceeding .08, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. He later was released on bond.  The man’s name is being withheld since charges had not been filed in McHenry County Court on Tuesday, according to online court records.
  • A 50-year-old Huntley man was arrested near Annandale Drive and Hastings Court about 2:04 a.m. Friday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol level exceeding .08, failure to dim headlights, expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane use. He later was released on bond. The man’s name is being withheld since charges had not been filed in McHenry County Court on Tuesday, according to online court records.
  • A 34-year-old Algonquin man was arrested near Ackman Road and Ronan Drive about 10:12 p.m. Monday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol content exceeding .08. He later was released on bond. The man’s name is being withheld since charges had not been filed in McHenry County Court on Tuesday, according to online court records.

Drunken Driving, Warrant Arrest

A 25-year-old Woodstock man was arrested near Algonquin and Crystal Lake roads about 3:26 a.m. Monday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and median violation. He was taken to McHenry County Jail. The man’s name is being withheld since charges had not been filed in McHenry County Court on Tuesday, according to online court records.

A 35-year-old Maywood man also was arrested on warrants out of DuPage County for failure to appear on a traffic violation and out of Forest Park for failure to appear for obstructing. He was taken to McHenry County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct

Lake in the Hills police responded to the 5400 block of Wildspring Drive about 12:04 a.m. Monday for a report of a male causing a disturbance.

Car Fire

A car fire was reported in the 900 block of Mesa Drive about 11:45 p.m. Friday. A report was made for insurance purposes.

Retail Theft

A 33-year-old Lake in the Hills woman was arrested Saturday afternoon on a charge of retail theft at Dominick’s, 101 N. Randall Road. Her name is being withheld since formal charges had not been filed in McHenry County Court on Tuesday, according to online records.

Battery

Police were called to the 300 block of Village Creek Drive about 12:50 a.m. Saturday for a report of several males fighting.

Motor Vehicle Burglary

The Lake in the Hills Police Department is investigating a report of cash stolen from an unlocked motor vehicle in the 500 block of Delaware Drive over the weekend. A total of $50 was taken. The report was made about 8:24 a.m. Saturday.

Wanted on Warrant

A 21-year-old Lake in the Hills man was arrested at Bucky’s Mobil, 101 N. Pyott Road, about 3:48 p.m. Sunday on a McHenry County warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle. He was taken to McHenry County Jail. The man’s name is being withheld since charges had not been filed in McHenry County Court on Tuesday, according to online court records.

Battery

Lake in the Hills police are investigating a report of battery between two females at Moretti’s, 220 N. Randall Road, about 3:28 a.m. Sunday.

Fireworks Violations

  • A citation was issued for a fireworks ordinance violation that occurred near Whitmore Way and Bridlewood Circle about 9:58 p.m. Sunday.
  • Fireworks were confiscated and a P-ticket issued for an ordinance violation in the first block of Wander Way about 8:33 p.m. Monday.

Battery

Lake in the Hills police responded to a report of an individual who was hit by a male at 7-Eleven, 4500 Algonquin Road, about 10:54 p.m. Sunday.

Identity Theft

Lake in the Hills police are investigating a report of unauthorized purchases made on the credit card of a resident living in the 4600 block of Heron Drive. The report was made to police about 1:55 p.m. Thursday.
