Dive Teams Respond to Fox River After Submerged Car Spotted in Elgin

A partially submerged car was located in the Fox River near Duncan Avenue just south of the I-90 bridge about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to media reports.


Dive teams responded to the Fox River in Elgin after a partially submerged car was reported near Interstate 90, according to the Daily Herald. 

There was no one was inside the car, which was reportedly stolen Monday night from an Elgin resident, according to the Elgin Courier News. The newspaper reports the car was located in the Fox River near Duncan Avenue just south of the I-90 bridge about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday. 

The car has been removed from the river, according to the Daily Herald.
