CVS Clerk Cited for Selling Alcohol to Minor in Lake in the Hills

The Lake in the Hills Police Department on Friday announced the results of alcohol compliance checks that were conducted this week at area businesses.

The operation involved sending a minor into area liquor establishments in an attempt to purchase alcohol. 

A total of 20 retailers were inspected, and 19 were found to be compliant, LITH Police said. 

However, one clerk at CVS Pharmacy, 4511 Algonquin Rd., sold alcohol to the undercover minor. 

Clerk Kim M. Moceri, of Gladstone Dr., Lake in the Hills, was cited during the operation for selling alcohol to a minor, police said.

• Dominicks, 101 N. Randall Rd.
• Hills Food & Liquor, 9451 Ackman Rd.
• Kaminari, 2124 W Algonquin Rd.
• Lily Garden Restaurant, 2106 W. Algonquin Rd. 
• LITH Liquors, 461 N Randall Rd.

• Moretti’s, 220 N Randall Rd.
• Noodles & Co., 315 N Randall Rd.

The alcohol compliance checks are one part of the process the LITH Police use to reduce the illegal sale of alcohol to persons under the legal drinking age. Police offer a retailer training program for the sale of liquor products as a proactive step in reducing illegal consumption by minors.
