Crystal Lake Woman To Face Arson, Attempted Murder Charges In Court

The Northwest Herald reported that the trial of Carrie M. Gil, 46, is expected to begin by the end of this week.

The trial of Carrie M. Gil, a Crystal Lake woman who is charged with trying to burn her boyfriend to death, is set to begin this week the Northwest Herald reported.

Gil, 46, is charged with in the 500 block of Windham Cove. Police said that an accelerant was used to fuel the fire which .

Gil was Davis' girlfriend at the time and at the time of the fire.

Prosecutors said that Gil and Davis had been in a relationship for seven years, the Northwest Herald reported. However, the newspaper reported that the couple had been having arguments over money problems.

Police said Gil initially and her relationship with Davis the day of the fire prior to her refusal to speak with police.

The only other person residing within the home, on a temporary basis, was Gil's daughter who attends college and was out of state at the time of the fire.
