Crystal Lake Snowmobiler Falls Through Ice in Eagle River Wisconsin

Crystal Lake resident James Trinka is being treated for hypothermia after his snowmobile fell through the ice on Eagle Lake near Eagle River, Wisc., ABC-7 Chicago News is reporting.

Trinka's wife called police for help at about 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, saying her husband's snowmobile had broken through the ice and he was submerged chest-deep in the water. Rescue officials pulled Trinka from the water, and he is currently hospitalized for treatment of hypothermia, ABC-7 reports. 

Eagle River is located in far northern Wisconsin and is a popular destination for snowmobile users.
