Crime Reports: Fireworks Violation Reported at Sunset Park; Teen Arrested for Trespassing at Jacobs

The Algonquin and Lake in the Hills crime reports below contain basic information on incident and arrest reports from the Algonquin Police Department and Lake in the Hills Police Department made in recent days. 

An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Algonquin, Lake in the Hills Crime Reports

Aug. 27

6:58 a.m.: LITH Police responded to wellhouse 15, 550 Harvest Gate in LITH, for a report of criminal damage to property. Ventilation hoses and other equipment was damaged.

1:35 p.m.: LITH Police responded to the 800 block of Willow St. in LITH and arrested Andrea G. Eichenold, 52, on a battery charge. Eichenhold, of 843 Willow St. in LITH, was later released on bond.

2:26 p.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Andriana C. Porter, 18, at the , 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin, for retail theft. Porter of Elgin was released on notice to appear and is next expected in court on Sept. 26 in Algonquin.

5:28 p.m.: Algonquin Police arrested a 15-year-old Algonquin boy at , 1410 S. Randall Road, for retail theft. The boy was referred to the tri-county area peer jury and then released into the custody of his parents.

7:47 p.m.: LITH Police responded to Sunset Skate Park, 9200 Haligus Road in LITH, for a report of a 9-year-old boy with a laceration on his leg. The boy was taken to Woodstock Memorial Hospital.

11:51 p.m.: Algonquin Police responded to Algonquin and Pyott roads and arrested Joshua Centeno, 19, for no valid driver’s license, speeding and no proof of insurance. Centeno of Chicago was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court on Oct. 10 in McHerny County.

Aug. 28

12:07 a.m.: Algonquin Police arrested a 17-year-old Elgin boy at Randall and Stonegate roads in Algonquin for no valid driver’s license, speeding, improper use of registration, driving on instruction permit and instruction permit violation for curfew. The boy was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court on Oct. 3 in McHenry County.

8:23 p.m.: LITH Police responded to, 5200 Miller Road in LITH, and arrested Vitto Richar Anoman, 20, on a battery charge. Anoman, of 3561 Chadwick Lane in LITH, was turned over to the McHenry County Jail.

Aug. 29

2:33 a.m.: Algonquin Police responded to Randall and Huntley roads and took into custody Codie P. Prestia, 25, for driving under the influence and speeding. Prestia, of 2091 Turnbridge Trail in Algonquin, was released after posting $100 and his Illinois driver’s license and is next expected in court on Oct. 3 in McHenry County.

11:13 p.m.: Lake in the Hills police arrested Edward D. Schweilke, 35, at Jefferson and McKinley streets in Lake in the Hills for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Schweilke, of 1512 Adam St. in LITH, was later released on bond.

11:37 a.m.: LITH Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Randall Road and Acorn Lane in Lake in the Hills. Property was damaged in the accident.

Aug. 30

6:29 a.m.: LITH Police responded to Miller Road and Boulder Drive in LITH for a report of a vehicle that collided with a boulder. Property was damaged in the crash.

8:12 a.m.: Algonquin Police arrested a 16-year-old Lake in the Hills girl at , 2601 Bunker Hill Drive in Algonquin, for criminal trespassing to land. She was formally petitioned into juvenile court and then released into the custody of her parents.

10:53 a.m.: LITH Police responded to , 6 Miller Road in LITH, and arrested Rickie A. Miller, 26, on two counts of criminal sexual assault. Miller, of 361 W. Terra Cotta Ave. in Crystal Lake, was turned over to the McHenry County Jail.

3:40 p.m.: LITH Police responded to Pyott and Algonquin roads for a two-vehicle crash. Property was damaged in the accident.

10:08 p.m.: Algonquin Police responded to , 734 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, and arrested Megan E. Delatorre, 22, of Gilberts for retail theft. Delatorre was released on a notice to appear and is next expected in court on Sept. 26 in Algonquin.

12:14 p.m.: LITH Police responded to Pyott and Algonquin roads for a two-vehicle accident. A motorcycle and vehicle collided. A 28-year-old man was transported to Sherman Hospital.

Aug. 31

1:50 a.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Chirstopher M. Piet, 26, at Route 62 and Lake/Cook Road in Algonquin for driving under the influence/drugs, failure to reduce speed and no proof of insurance. Piet of Carpentersville was released on a personal recognizance bond and is next expected in court on Sept. 26 in McHenry County.

7:59 a.m.: LITH Police responded to the 2700 block of Briarcliff Lane in LITH for a report of two tires punctured on a vehicle at sometime overnight. The report was turned over to investigations.

9:19 a.m.: LITH Police responded to the 2000 block of Noelle Bend and arrested Anthony R. Gargano, 18, for violation of an order of protection. Gargano, 454 Village Creek Drive in LITH, was turned over to McHenry County Jail.

11:29 a.m.: LITH Police responded to the first block of Grant Avenue in LITH and arrested a 16-year-old LITH girl on two counts of domestic battery. The girl was released to her mother.

12:52 a.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Angela M. Braughton, 46, of Ashton at 2 N. Main St. in Algonquin on a warrant out of Ogle County for driving while license suspended. She was transported to McHenry County Jail when unable to post bond.

11:52 a.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Niesha T. French, 28, at Old Navy, 1824 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, on a warrant out of DuPage County for criminal damage to property. French of Capron was turned over to the Woodridge Police Department when she was unable to post bond.

12:08 a.m.: Lake in the Hills Police arrested Troy E. Grimes, 18, at , 5200 Miller Road in Lake in the Hills, for driving under the influence of alcohol, consumption of alcohol by a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession marijuana. Grimes, of 13926 Harmony Rod in Huntley, was later released on bond.  

12:21 a.m.: Lake in the Hills Police arrested Kimberly S. Campbell, 42, in the 100 block of Northlight Passe in Lake in the Hills on two counts of domestic battery. Campbell, of 187 Northlight Passe in Lake in the Hills, was taken to the McHenry County Jail.

3:13 a.m.: Lake in the HIlls Police arrested Luigi Alvarado, 23, at Moretti’s Ristorante & Pizzeria, 220 N. Randall Road in Lake in the Hills, for criminal damage to property. Alvarado of Elgin was later released on bond.

1:01 p.m.: LITH Police responded to an accident in the 100 block of Village Creek Drive in Lake in the Hills at 1:01 p.m. A vehicle collided with a ramp. Property was damaged in the accident.

2:29 p.m.: LITH Police responded to Miller and Albrecht roads in LITH for a two-vehicle accident. Property was damaged in the crash.

5:06 p.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Nicole N. Pike, 27, at Walmart, 1410 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, for retail theft. Pike of Carpentersville was released after posting $150 with a court date of Oct. 3 set in McHenry County.

6:18 p.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Donnie N. Hermansen, 19, at Walmart, 1410 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, for retail theft. She was released on a notice to appear with a court date of Oct. 31 set in Algonquin.

11:21 p.m.: Algonquin Police arrested a 15-year-old Algonquin girl at Stonegate Road and Wynnfield Drive in Algonquin for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. The girl was referred to the tri-county peer jury and then released into the custody of her parents.

Sept. 2

12:43 a.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Ian W. Loader, 30, at Randall and Stonegate roads in Algonquin for driving under the influence and speeding. Loader, of 1320 White Chapel Lane in Algonquin, was released after posting $100 and his Illinois Driver’s License and is next expected in court on Oct. 10 in McHenry County.

2:33 a.m.: Lake in the Hills police responded to Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road, at 2:33 a.m. on Sept. 2 for a report of playground equipment that was damaged. The report was turned over to investigations.

2:34 a.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Thomas H. Fabich, 27, at Stonegate Road and Bitter Spring Court in Algonquin for driving under the influence, DUI over, disregarding stop sign and no proof of insurance. Fabich, of 318 Harvest Gate in Lake in the Hills, was released after posting $100 and his Illinois Driver’s License with a court date of Oct. 10 in McHenry County set.

3:54 p.m.: Lake in the Hills Police arrested Joshua L. Homuth, 29, in the first block of Lansbury Court in Lake in the Hills on charges of harassment through electronic communication and harassment by telephone. Homuth of Marengo was later released on bond.

6:04 p.m.: Lake in the Hills Police responded to Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road in Lake in the Hills, and arrested Nicholas A. Sanfilippo, 18, on a charge of trespassing to land. Sanfilippo, of 10498 Middle Town Lane n Huntley, was given a notice to appear.

10:10 p.m.: LITH Police responded to Moriett’s, 220 N. Randall Road, for a report of criminal sexual assault. The report was being investigated by the reporting officer.

10:48 p.m.: LITH Police received a report of fireworks that went into a vehicle, causing injury to the occupants and damage to the vehicle at Sunset Park, 5200 Miller Road in Lake in the Hills. The report was turned over to investigations.

Sept. 3

4:18 a.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Evaristo Ruiz-Perez, 39, at Pyott Road and Oak Street in Algonquin, for driving under the influence, driving under the influence over, speeding, improper lane use, driving in the wrong lane, following too closely and no proof of insurance. Ruiz-Perez, of 148 Berkshire Drive in Crystal Lake, was released after posting $100 and his Illinois Driver’s License with a court date of Oct. 17 set in McHenry County.

8:22 p.m.: Lake in the Hills Police responded to an accident at 6900 Rakow Road. A motorcycle collided with a deer. A 40-year-old man with cuts to his head and a 33-year-old woman with cuts to her legs were take to Woodstock Memorial Hospital.

12:12 p.m.: Lake in the Hills Police responded to the 100 block of Acorn Lane in Lake in the Hills and arrested a 16-year-old Lake in the Hills boy for criminal damage to property. The boy was turned over to parents.

Sept. 4

1:56 a.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Michelle J. Swan, 38, at West Algonquin Road and Meyer Drive in Algonquin for DUI, DUI Over, improper lane use and driving in the wrong lane. Swan, of 1541 Matthew Drive in Algonquin, was released after posting $100 and her Illinois Driver’s License with a court date of Oct. 10 set in McHenry County.

4:05 a.m.: Algonquin Police arrested Michelle J. Swan, 38, at her home at 1541 Matthew Drive in Algonquin for domestic battery. Swan was taken to Kane County Jail to await a bond hearing.
