Crashes Reported During Snowstorm; Teen Arrested for Curfew Violation

The Lake in the Hills Police Department responded the following calls from Jan. 9 through Jan. 12.

Identity Theft

Police received an identity theft report from a complainant living in the 1000 block of Horizon Ridge at 7:29 p.m. on Jan. 9. The complainant reported fraudulent activity on a credit card.

Curfew

Police arrested a 15-year-old Lake in the Hills girl at 5:55 a.m. on Jan. 10 in the first block of Litchfield Court for a curfew violation. She was later released to a parent. 

Drunken Driving Arrest

A 35-year-old Crystal Lake man was pulled over at Algonquin and Ruth roads at 1:31 a.m. on Jan. 11 and arrested for drunken driving and speeding. He was taken to McHenry County Jail.

Driving While License Suspended

Police arrested a 20-year-old Dundee woman at Algonquin and Frank roads at 4:25 p.m. on Jan. 11 for driving while license suspended. She was later released on bond.

Accidents During Thursday Snowstorm

Police responded to a handful of vehicle accidents during the area’s first major snowstorm for the winter season on Thursday.

  • A vehicle hit a light pole at Annandale Drive and Algonquin Road at 10:21 a.m. on Thursday. Property was damaged in the crash.
  • Police responded to a hit and run at Acorn and Meadow lanes at 1:06 p.m. Thursday for a report of a vehicle that hit a street sign. Property was damaged in the crash.
  • A vehicle slid into a ditch at Pyott Road and Imhoff Drive at 3:18 p.m. Property was damaged.
  • Two vehicles collided at Algonquin Road and Hilltop Drive at 3:31 p.m. on Thursday. Property was damaged.
  • Two vehicles collided at Frank Road and Boulder Drive at 7:49 p.m. Property was damaged.
