Correctional Officer From Cary Arrested on Sex Abuse Charges

Daniel Robinson, 39, is being held on a $50,000 bond.

A 39-year-old Cook County correctional officer from Cary was arrested on Saturday for "forcibly detaining and sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl," according to the Daily Herald. 

Daniel Robinson, 39, is being held on a $50,000 bond and is charged with unlawful restraint and criminal sexual abuse, according to the Daily Herald. Robinson was forced to turn in his gun after being de-deputized following his arrest, according to the Northwest Herald. 

Robinson met the 17-year-old girl online, according to the Chicago Tribune. He is accused of groping the girl and holding her hands down, pulling her hair and pulling her pants down, according to the Chicago Tribune.
