Casciaro Sentenced to 26 Years in Prison for Murder of Brian Carrick

Mario Casciaro has been sentenced to 26 years in prison relating to the death of missing Johnsburg teenager Brian Carrick.

Mario Casciaro, 30, was sentenced Thursday, Nov. 14, to 26 years in prison for the murder of Johnsburg teenager Brian Carrick, the Northwest Herald is reporting. Carrick went missing in 2002, and his body was never found.

Casciaro was found guilty of first-degree murder in April 2013. The key witness in the case was Shane Lamb who said he was sent to talk to Carrick about a drug debt and hit Carrick, a blow that likely killed him. Prosecutors said Casciaro used Lamb as a "henchman" and therefore responsible for Lamb's actions, the Herald reports.
