A Buffalo Grove woman has been identified as the person who was fatally struck by a train near the Buffalo Grove Metra Station.

Linda S. Kozer, 49, died from multiple blunt force trauma injuries, according to Lake County Coroner Thomas Rudd.

Police responded to the scene around 8 a.m. Friday after receiving a report of a body lying on the tracks south of Deerfield Parkway.

The tracks are used by both freight and commuter trains, Lake County Sgt. Sara Balmes said, and it is not yet known which train hit Kozer.

The incident remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
