Both Drivers in Crash Arrested for Drunken Driving

LITH Police arrested the drivers involved in the two-car overnight accident for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Both drivers in a two-vehicle accident early Saturday face drunken driving charges.

James S. Sonsalla, 43, of South Pasadena, Flor. was driving a 2001 Dodge Caravan southbound on Randall Road at 3:48 a.m. Saturday when he crossed the center line and collided head on with a Chevrolet Tracker driven by Kristine N. Stasiek, 23, of Woodstock, said LITH Police Officer Joe Simms. 

Both Sonsalla and Stasiek were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, Simms said.

Sonsalla was also cited for improper lane usage and driving while license revoked. Stasiek also faces a charge of aggravated driving under influence of alcohol, Simms said. 

Both drivers incurred minor injuries, and were transported to a local hospital, police said.

Immediately upon their release, Sonsalla and Stasiek were taken into custody by LITH Police and transported to McHenry County Jail, according to police.
