Driving While Under the Influence

Police arrested Sebastian G. Garland, 25, at 4:37 a.m. May 26 at Dominick’s, 101 N. Randall Road, Algonquin, on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and squealing tires. Garland, of 265 Coventry Court, Elgin, was released on bond. 

Driving While License Suspended

Police arrested Hiram G. Ramirez, 30, of Chicago, at 6:44 p.m. May 26 at Oakleaf and Algonquin roads on a charge of driving while license suspended. Ramirez was released on bond. 

Speeding 40 mph Over in Construction Zone

Police arrested Kevin S. Glover, 44, at 8:11 p.m. May 26 at Rakow and Virginia roads on a charge of speeding 40 miles per hour over the speed limit in a construction zone. Glover, of 1228 Navajo Drive, Carpentersville, was released on bond. 

Wanted on Warrant

Police arrested Tina L. Alonzo, 42, at 10:30 p.m. May 26 at Rakow and Pyott roads on an Elgin warrant for a traffic offense. Alonzo, of 1675 Mulberry Lane, No. 2, Elgin, was released on bond.

Death Investigation

Police responded to the 200 block of East Acorn Lane at 3:40 a.m. May 26 for a report of a 58-year-old man who was unresponsive and not breathing. The death investigation was turned over to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office. 

Police Arrest Men on Warrants

Police arrested two men at Steak 'n Shake, 211 N. Randall Road, at 3:21 a.m. May 27. Police took into custody Michael Jason Ray, 29, of Naperville, for a warrant from the Illinois State Police District in Chicago for failure to appear on a traffic offense. He also was charged with driving while license suspended and disregarding a traffic-control device. He was released on bond. Police also arrested Demetrie M. Zimbelman, 23, of Itasca, on a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear for a traffic offense and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Zimbelman was taken to the McHenry County Jail. 

DUI, Arrest Warrants

Police arrested Felipe Gonzalez, 25, at 3:53 a.m. May 27 at Randall Road and Alexandra Boulevard on several charges. Those charges include driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, improper lane use, no valid driver's license, obstructing identification and no insurance. He also was wanted on a Carpentersville Police Department warrant for failure to appear, driving while license suspended and no valid driver's license and a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear, driving while license suspended, suspended registration and no insurance. He was taken to McHenry County Jail. 

Driving While License Suspended

Police arrested Francisco M. Pacheco, 20, of 1329 Teakwood Lane, Crystal Lake, at 3:52 a.m. May 28 at Randall and Miller roads on a charge of driving while license suspended. He was released on bond. 

Underage Drinking

Police arrested Francisco M. Pacheco, 20, of 1329 Teakwood Lane, Crystal Lake, at 3:52 a.m. May 28 at Randall and Miller roads on a charge of driving while license suspended. He was released on bond. 

Wedding Ring Stolen

Police received a report of a wedding ring stolen from a home in the 600 block of Anderson Drive in Lake in the Hills at 3:26 p.m. May 29. The theft report was turned over to investigations at the Lake in the Hills Police Department. 

Algonquin Police Blotter

DUI

Police arrested Richard V. Brown, 56, at 12:59 a.m. May 26 at Route 31 and Beach Drive in Algonquin on charges of driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, and failure to dim headlights. Brown, of 2881 Brisbane Drive, Lake in the Hills, was released after posting $300. He is expected in McHenry County court on June 27. 

Unlawful Sale of Alcohol to a Minor

Police arrested James M. Manski, 26, on a charge of unlawful sale of alcohol to a minor at 2:41 p.m. May 26. He was taken into custody at the Algonquin Police Department, 2200 Harnish Drive, Algonquin. Manski, of 611 Hackberry Lane, Algonquin, was released on a notice to appear. He is next expected in court on June 27 in Algonquin. 

Retail Theft

Police arrested a 16-yerar-old Woodstock girl at 2:37 p.m. May 26 for retail theft at Kohl's, 734 S. Randall Road, Algonquin. She was referred to the Tri-County Area Peer Jury and then released into the custody of her parents.

Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 

Police arrested John R. Berg, 59, on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm and with possession of ammunition, both without a valid firearm owner’s identification card. He was taken into custody at 2:04 p.m. May 28 at Route 31 and Beach Drive. Berg, of 1114 Pine St., Lake in the Hills, was released after posting $150 and is expected in court on July 11 in McHenry County. 

Domestic Battery

Police arrested a 17-year-old Algonquin boy at 4:54 p.m. May 28 in the 4000 block of Bunker Hill Drive on charges of domestic battery and criminal damage to property. He was petitioned formally into juvenile court and then released to the custody of his parents.
