Retail Theft, Battery

Police arrested James W. Chonko, 22, at 9:12 a.m. June 16 at the Algonquin Police Department, 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin, for retail theft and battery. Chonko, of 109 S. Main Street in Algonquin, was transported to McHenry County Jail when unable to post bond. 

LAKE IN THE HILLS BLOTTER

Curfew Violation

Police arrested a 16-year-old Lake in the Hills boy at Algonquin Road and Hilltop Drive in Lake in the Hills at 12:29 a.m. June 18 for a curfew violation. He was given a notice to appear and released to a parent.

Possession of Marijuana 

Police arrested Christopher A.G. Kozell, 20, at Normandy Park, 680 Normandy Lane, at 11:16 p.m. June 18 for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana less than 2.5 grams. Kozell, of 310 Windermere Way, Lake in the Hills, was released on bond. 

Theft

Police arrested Nikko R. Gonzalez, 19, at the , 1115 Crystal Lake Road, at 7:22 p.m. June 18. Gonzelez, of 5421 Crossview Lane, was charged with theft and later released on bond. 

Hit and Run

Police received a report at 6:10 p.m. June of a hit and run at Indian Trail Beach, 228 Indian Trail in Lake in the Hills. A vehicle was struck and the offender then left the scene. 

Disregarded Traffic-Control Device

Police arrested Regino G. Garcia, 29, at Virginia Road and Trinity Drive in Lake in the Hills at 1:37 p.m. June 17 on charges of no valid driver's license and disregarding  a traffic-control device. Garcia, of 1965 Cherokee Road, Carpentersville, was released on bond. 

Driving While License Suspended

Police arrested James L. Erber, 64, at Randall Road and Bunker Hill Drive in Lake in the Hills at 3:37 p.m. June 17 on a charge of driving while license suspended. Erber, of 4730 Coyote Lake, Lake in the Hills, was charged with driving while license suspended. He was released on bond. 

Drug Charges

Three Lake in the Hills teens and one Lake in the Hills man were arrested at 9:07 p.m. June 17 on drug charges at Greenshire Circle and Haligus Road in Lake in the Hills.

  • London D. Wright, 22, of 12 Sussex Court, Lake in the Hills, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and was turned over to the McHenry County Jail.
  • Alexander J. Robson, 18, of 9921 Bedford Drive, Huntley, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and turned over to the McHenry County Jail.
  • A 17-year-old Lake in the Hills boy was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and was released to a parent.
  • A 17-year-old Lake in the Hills boy was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and was released to a parent. 

Home Burglary

Police received a report of a home burglary in the 600 block of Wedgewood Circle in Lake in the Hills at 7:34 p.m. June 17. Forced entry was made to the home and an HP laptop was stolen. The report was turned over to the 's investigations team.  

Driving Under the Influence

Police arrested Henry G. Behning III, 57, at 12:44 a.m. June 16 at Applebee's, 251 N. Randall Road, Lake in the Hills, on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper turning at an intersection. Behning, of 1509 Glacier Circe, Crystal Lake, was released on bond. 

DUI

Police arrested Michael A. Linton, 35,  at 3:18 a.m. June 15 in the first block of Acorn Lane in Lake in the Hills on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to signal and disobeying a traffic-control device. Linton, of 1 W. Acorn Lane, was released on bond.  

Criminal Damage to Property

Police arrested Renee A. Germain, 19, at 12:25 a.m. June 15 in the 400 block of East Oak Street on a charge of criminal damage to property. Germain, of 404 E. Oak St., Lake in the Hills, was released on bond.
