LITH Man Charged With Domestic Battery

A 26-year-old Lake in the Hills man faces domestic battery charges after he was arrested Monday night in the 1400 block of Algonquin Rd. Anthony M. Tank appeared in McHenry County Court this week where he was charged with domestic battery/bodily harm and domestic battery/physical contact, which are both misdemeanor counts, according to McHenry County's online court records. He is next expected in court on April 26.

Jewelry Reportedly Taken From Home

The Lake in the Hills Police Department is investigating a theft that allegedly occurred in the 300 block of Pheasant Trl. A resident reported jewelry was taken from the home. The report was made around 2:48 p.m. on Monday and turned over to the police department's investigations unit. 

Huntley Man Arrested on Drunken Driving Charges

Lake in the Hills police pulled over a 34-year-old Huntley man in the area of Algonquin Road and Square Barn Road around 1:35 a.m. Tuesday. The man was arrested on a drunken driving charge and also ticketed for speeding. He was later released on bond.

Possible Possession of 'Spice'

The Lake in the Hills Police Department was provided with information that someone was possibly in possession of 'Spice,' a synthetic marijuana product that became illegal to possess in Illinois at the beginning of this year. The report is under investigation. 'Spice,' or K-2, became illegal to use in Illinois on Jan. 1 and many other states have banned the substance. According to a USA Today article, 'Spice' is sold online, in convenience stores and in herbal and spiritual stores and "is usually marketed as incense." The article described Spice as herbs coated with a synthetic chemical that "mimics a marijuana high when smoked."
