Algonquin Police Blotter

Harassment Through Electronic Communications

Police arrested Maria N. Nieto, 18, at 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin, for harassment through electronic communications. Nieto, of 310 Four Winds Way in Carpentersville, was taken into custody at 10:06 a.m. on June 1. She was released after posting $150 and is expected in court on June 11 in McHenry County. 

No Valid Driver's License

Police arrested Heather L. Irwin, 25, at 3:37 p.m. on June 1 in the 500 block of East Algonquin Road for no valid driver's license and no proof of insurance. Irwin, of 1752 Winaki Trail in Algonquin, was released on a personal recognizance bond. She is next expected in court on June 27 in McHenry County. 

Domestic Battery

Police arrested John T. Bogseth, 46, of Algonquin, at 5:07 p.m. on June 1 on two counts of domestic battery at , 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin. He was taken to McHenry County Jail to await a bond call. 

Retail Theft

Police arrested Stephanie D. Johnson, 18, of Elgin, and a 17-year-old Huntley girl at , 1410 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, at 9:38 p.m. on June 1 and charged both with retail theft. Both were released on a notice to appear with a court date of July 25 in Algonquin. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Police arrested Thanh Le, 42, at 3670 Bunker Hill Drive in Algonquin, for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and aggravated assault at 12:25 a.m. on June 3. Le, of 1441 Skyridge Drive in Crystal Lake, was taken to McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing. 

Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor

Police arrested Eric S. Carpenter, 19, at 3:32 a.m. on June 3 at 830 Tanglewood Court in Algonquin for zero tolerance, disregarding a stop sign, improper lane usage, illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia. Carpenter, of 625 Claymont Court in Algonquin, was released after posting $150. He is next expected in court on July 11 in McHenry County. 

Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor

Police arrested a 16-year-old Stratford, Wis., boy for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor at 3:47 a.m. on June 3 at 830 Tanglewood Drive in Algonquin. He was released on a notice to appear and is next expected in court on July 25 in Algonquin. 

Warrant for Unlawful Display of Title/Certificate/Plates

Police arrested Regina Spagnola, 36, of Chicago at 3:57 p.m. on June 3 on a warrant out of Kane County for unlawful display of title/certificate/plate. She was taken into custody at 15 South Randall Road. She was released after posting $500 and is next expected in court on June 27 in Kane County. 

Home Repair Fraud Warrant

Police arrested Jason Halley, 41, on a warrant out of McHenry County for home repair fraud at 1:38 a.m. on June 4 at Route 31 and Wilbrandt Street. He was also charged by the Algonquin Police Department with driving while license suspended, suspended registration and no proof of insurance. Halley, of 208 E. Main St. in Carpentersville, was released after posting $2,000 on the McHenry County warrant and is next expected in court on June 20. He also posted $150 on the Algonquin charges and is expected on July 11 in McHenry County. 

 

Lake in the Hills Blotter

Unlawful Possession of Marijuana — 2.5 to 10 Grams

Lake in the Hills Police arrested Luis R. Garcia, 18, at Randall Road and Angela Lane in Crystal Lake at 12:26 a.m. on June 4 for possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of marijuana 2.5 to 10 grams, driving while license suspended, no insurance and electronic communication device. Garcia, of 351 W. Terra Cotta #1 in Crystal Lake, was turned over to the McHenry County Jail. 

LITH Teens Arrested for Trespassing 

Police arrested two Lake in the Hills teens at 2:22 p.m. on June 4 in the first block of Fairhaven Court in Lake in the Hills. The boys were charged with the following:

  • A 16-year-old Lake in the Hills boy was arrested for criminal trespassing to a residence, theft under and possession of alcohol by a minor. He was later released to a parent.
  • Police arrested a 15-year-old LITH boy for criminal trespassing to residence, theft under, possession of alcohol by a minor, possession os marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. he was later released to a parent. 

Drug Charges

Police arrested Raymond I. William, 22, at 11:43 p.m. on June 4 at Crystal Lake Road and Acorn Lane in Lake in the Hills on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a narcotic instrument and speeding. Williams, of 406 Crystal Lake Road in LITH, was turned over to the McHenry County Jail. 

Damage to Vehicle

Police received a report of a vehicle that had been damaged and tires taken off at , 9242 Trinity Drive in Lake in the Hills, at 7:54 a.m. on June 4. 

DUI

Police arrested Daniel J. Birkenheier, 22, at 4:27 a.m. on June at 250 N. Randall Road for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with breath alcohol content over .08, failure to signal lane change and disobeying traffic control device. Birkenheier, of 1661 Cumberland Parkway in Algonquin, was turned over to the McHenry County Jail. 

Warrant for Assault

Police arrested Daniel J. Birkenheier, 22, at 4:27 a.m. on June at 250 N. Randall Road for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with breath alcohol content over .08, failure to signal lane change and disobeying traffic control device. Birkenheier, of 1661 Cumberland Parkway in Algonquin, was turned over to the McHenry County Jail. 

Battery

Police received a report at 3:18 a.m. on June 3 regarding a male and female battery complaint at , 220 N. Randall Road. 

DUI

Police arrested Jason B. Watt, 24, at 1:16 a.m. on June 2 at McHenry Avenue and Randall Road in Lake in the Hills for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Watt, of 361 Wedgewood Circle in Lake in the Hills, was transported to Sherman Hospital for an  evaluation. He was later released on bond. 

Underage Drinking

Police arrested Jason B. Watt, 24, at 1:16 a.m. on June 2 at McHenry Avenue and Randall Road in Lake in the Hills for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Watt, of 361 Wedgewood Circle in Lake in the Hills, was transported to Sherman Hospital for an  evaluation. He was later released on bond. 

Assault, Trespassing 

Police arrested Jason B. Watt, 24, at 1:16 a.m. on June 2 at McHenry Avenue and Randall Road in Lake in the Hills for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Watt, of 361 Wedgewood Circle in Lake in the Hills, was transported to Sherman Hospital for an  evaluation. He was later released on bond. 

Injury Accident

Police arrested Jason B. Watt, 24, at 1:16 a.m. on June 2 at McHenry Avenue and Randall Road in Lake in the Hills for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Watt, of 361 Wedgewood Circle in Lake in the Hills, was transported to Sherman Hospital for an  evaluation. He was later released on bond. 

Battery

Police arrested Jason B.
