Blotter: Algonquin Teen Arrested for DUI/Drugs, Speeding in Excess of 40 MPH

ALGONQUIN POLICE BLOTTER

Driving While License Suspended

Police took Michael E. St. John, 19, into custody at County Line Road and Merchant Drive in Algonquin at 3:34 p.m. on June 4 for driving while license suspended, no proof of insurance and no seat belt. St. John, who resides in Chicago, was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court in McHenry County on July 11.

DUI/Drugs, Speeding in Excess of 40 MPH, Possession of Marijuana

Police arrested Nicholas J. Jordan, 21, at Randall Road and Corporate Parkway in Algonquin at 2 a.m. on June 5 for driving under the influence/drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver's license, speeding in excess of 40 mph, no proof of insurance and reckless driving. Jordan, of 20 Stonegate Court in Algonquin, was released after posting $300. He was expected in court on July 11 in McHernry County.

Driving While License Suspended

Police arrested Andrew D. Kaplan, 25, at Main Street and Beach Drive in Algonquin at 11:28 a.m. on June 5 for driving while license suspended and disobeying a stop sign. Kaplan, of 1120 Fox River Drive in Algonquin, was released after posting $150. He is expected in court on June 27 in McHenry County.

Retail Theft

Police arrested Leticia Chavez-Morales, 40, at Walmart, 1410 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, at 1:50 p.m. on June 5 for retail theft. Chavez-Morales of Carpentersville was released on a notice to appear. She is expected in court on July 25 in Algonquin.

Domestic Battery

Police arrested Steven R. Jones, 42, at the Algonquin Police Department, 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin, at 5:53 p.m. on June 6 for domestic battery. Jones, of 4 Greyshire Court in Algonquin, was transported to Kane County Jail to await a bond hearing.

Wanted on Warrant for Battery

Police arrested Heather A. Burris, 22, at the Algonquin Police Department, 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin, at 6:55 p.m. June 6 on a warrant out of McHenry County for battery. Burris, 10704 Pebble Drive in Huntley, was released after posting $150. She is next expected in court on June 27 in McHenry County.

No Valid Driver's License

Police arrested Edda Santiago-Valerrabono, 23, at Route 62 and Harrison Street in Algonquin at 5:04 p.m. on June 7 for no valid driver's license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Santiago-Valerrabono, of 40 Evergreen in Carpentersville, was released on a personal recognizance bond and is next expected in court on July 11 in McHenry County.

Endangering Life/Health of a Child

Police arrested Peter S. Krentz, 38, in the Walmart parking lot, 1410 S. Randall Road, at 8:14 p.m. on June 7 for possession of a controlled substance and endangering the life/health of a child. Krentz, of 2605 Pond View in Algonquin, was transported to McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing.

LAKE IN THE HILLS BLOTTER

Driving While License Suspended

Police arrested Jesus L. Acuna, 25, at McHenry Avenue and Randall Road in Lake in the Hills at 1:58 a.m. on June 5 for driving while license suspended, obstructing identification and speeding in a construction zone. Acuna, of 1045 Coventry Lane in Crystal Lake, was released on bond.

Domestic Battery

Police arrested Alfredo Rojas-Arevalo, 34, in the 5300 block of Lansbury Circle in Lake in the Hills, at 2:01 p.m. on June 5 for domestic battery. He was turned over to McHenry County Jail.

Driving While License Suspended

Police arrested Kenny Torres, 27, at Acorn Lane and Randall Road in Lake in the Hills, at 8:15 p.m. on June 5 for driving while license suspended and no valid registration. Torres, of Lafayette, Ind., was released on bond.

Driving While License Suspended

Police arrested Samual L. Alvarez, 21, at Route 31 and Trinity Drive at 12:03 a.m. on June 6 for driving while license suspended, possession of marijuana under 2.5 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Alvarez, of 567 Somset Lane, Apt. 3 in Crystal Lake, was released on bond.

Underage Drinking

Police arrested two area teens in the 100 block of Northlight Passe in Lake in the Hills at 12:02 a.m. on June 7 for underage drinking. Police took into custody:

  • Shane S. Thorelius, 18, of 510 Tenby Way in Algonquin, for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. 
  • Meghna Kulkarni, 19, of 8408 Redtail Drive in Algonquin, for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Both teens were issued notices to appear. A battery investigation is pending by the reporting officer.

Driving While License Revoked

Police arrested Capreis L. Mack, 39, at Miller and Frank roads in Lake in the Hills, at 2:34 p.m. on June 7 for driving while license revoked, expired registration and no valid insurance. Mack resides at 17 Manchester Court in Lake in the Hills.
