Blotter: Drunken Driving Crashes; Car Fire at Blockbuster

The Lake in the Hills Police Department responded to several reports and made various arrests Thursday through Sunday.

Accident/Driving Under the Influence

A 22-year-old Algonquin man was arrested near Algonquin Road and Lake Drive about 1:45 a.m. Sunday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08, improper lane use, failure to reduce speed and driving without insurance. He later was released on bond.

A 20-year-old Lake in the Hill man was arrested in the 100 block of Bridlewood Circle about 4:34 a.m. Sunday on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. He later was released on bond. 

Domestic Battery

A 52-year-old Lake in the Hills man was arrested in the 900 block of Viewpoint Drive about 8:39 p.m. Sunday on charges of domestic battery and unlawful interference with the reporting of domestic violence. He was taken to McHenry County Jail. 

Injury Accident

A vehicle struck a tree at Lakewood and Algonquin roads about 3:10 a.m. The female driver was taken to Sherman Hospital. 

Theft

is investigating a report of several items taken from a complainant's purse in the 3000 block of Hillsboro Lane about 3:31 a.m. Sunday. 

Injury Accident

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash near Algonquin Road and Harvest Gate about 11:20 a.m. Sunday. One of the drivers was taken to Sherman Hospital. 

Theft

A black BMX bike reportedly was taken from a garage in the 2500 block of Melbourne Lane about 1:42 p.m. Sunday. 

Retail Theft

Groceries reportedly were stolen from , 101 N. Randall Road, about 2:57 p.m. Sunday.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

A 26-year-old Huntley woman was arrested near Algonquin and Square Barn roads about 2:06 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended and speeding. 

Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

A 43-year-old South Pasadena, Fla., man was arrested near Randall and Miller roads about 3:48 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and driving while license was revoked. He was taken to the McHenry County Jail. A 23-year-old Woodstock woman also was arrested for aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to McHenry County Jail. 

Burglary from Motor Vehicle

An MP3 player was taken from a vehicle in the 1300 block of Cunat Court about 12:32 p.m. Saturday. 

Car Fire

and fire officials responded to a car fire at , 208 N. Randall Road, about 12:35 p.m. Saturday.

Hit and Run/Driving Under the Influence

A 22-year-old Wonder Lake man was arrested at , 220 N. Randall Road, about 2:30 a.m. Friday on charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving under the influence of alcohol, blood-alcohol level over .08, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, three counts of disobeying a traffic-control device and failure to give information. He later was released on bond. 

Accident/Driving Under the Influence

A 21-year-old Lake in the Hills man was arrested at about 4:06 a.m. Friday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting a peace officer. He later was released on bond. 

Hit and Run

A vehicle reportedly hit a "no U-turn" sign and then left the scene of the crash near Randall and Algonquin roads about 4:21 a.m. Friday. 

Wanted on a Warrant

A 30-year-old McHenry man was arrested at , 8465 Pyott Road, about 4:50 p.m. Thursday on a Kane County warrant for failure to appear for traffic violations. He later was released on bond. 

Suspicious Incident

Lake in the Hills police are investigating a report of a suspicious-looking vehicle in the area of Twelve Lake Court and Ridgewood Circle. The report was made about 6:28 a.m. Thursday. 

Criminal Defacement

Graffiti was located on the entrance sign of the Lake in the Hills Public Works building, 9010 Haligus Road, about 3:47 p.m. Thursday. The reported damage is under investigation. 

Criminal Trespassing to a Motor Vehicle

A vehicle was entered through the attached cab at , 8465 Pyott Road, about 6:44 p.m. Thursday. The report is under investigation.
