The Lake in the Hills and Algonquin police departments responded to the following reports from Aug. 17 through Aug. 20.

ALGONQUIN POLICE BLOTTER

DUI, Speeding

Police arrested Jeff R. Metropoulos, 20, at 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Blackhawk Trail and Cary/Algonquin Road for DUI, DUI over, speeding, improper passing, driving on wrong side of roadway and no proof of insurance. Metropoulos, of 10106 Wilmette Drive in Algonquin, was released after posting $100 and his Illinois Driver's License. He is next expected in court on Oct. 3 in McHenry County. 

Theft Under $300

Police arrested Colleen D. Creamer, 36. at Loft, 1968 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, at 4:28 p.m. on Aug. 17 for theft under $300. Creamer of Vernon Hills was released on a personal recognizance bond and is next expected in court on Sept. 20 in McHenry County. 

Criminal Damage to Property, Aggravated Battery

Police arrested Joe S. Scherer, 47, at 11:52 p.m. on Aug. 17 at his home at 701 Evergreen Court in Algonquin on two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of criminal damage to property. Scherer was taken to McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing. 

LAKE IN THE HILLS BLOTTER

Warrant

Police arrested Joe S. Scherer, 47, at 11:52 p.m. on Aug. 17 at his home at 701 Evergreen Court in Algonquin on two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of criminal damage to property. Scherer was taken to McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing. 

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Police responded to the 1300 block of Cunat Court in Lake in the Hills at 9:41 a.m. on Aug. 17 for a report of a burglary ot a motor vehicle. A rear window was broken and a radar detector stolen at some point overnight. The report was turned over to the Lake in the Hills Police Department's investigations unit. 

Criminal Damage to Property

Police arrested a 17-year-old Lake in the Hills boy in the 200 block of Village Creek Drive in Lake in the Hills at 7:56 a.m. on Aug. 18 for criminal damage to property and possession of drug paraphernalia. The teen was released to a parent and referred to a peer jury. 

Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of Marijuana

Police arrested Angelo Aranda, 18, at 9:22 p.m. on Aug. 18 at Algonquin and Lakewood roads for two counts of fleeing and eluding, driving under the influence of drugs, improper passing on left, possession of marijuana under 2.5 grams, speeding 40 mph over the limit, speeding 30 mph over the limit, two counts of speeding, no insurance, passing on the shoulder, reckless driving, disobeying traffic control device and disobeying traffic control signal. Aranda, of 9672 Bennington Drive in Huntley, was turned over to McHenry County Jail. 

Hit and Run

Police received a report of a hit and run in the 4200 block of Larkspur Lane in Lake in the Hills at 12:41 a.m. on Aug. 18. A vehicle struck a tree and mailbox and then left the scene. 

DUI

Police arrested Angelo Rodriguez-Koutsios, 20, at 1:15 a.m. on Aug. 19 at CVS Pharmacy, 1305 Randall Road, for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol content greater then .08, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane usage. Rodriguez-Koutsios of Milwaukee was turned over to the McHenry County Jail. 

DUI

Police arrested Matthew Pawlik, 21, at 3:47 a.m. at Aug. 19 for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with breath alcohol content greater than .08, disobeying a traffic control device and expired registration. Pawlik, of 744 Bayberry Drive in Cary, was taken into custody at Taco Bell, 231 N. Randall Road in Lake in the Hills. 

Battery

Police arrested Angela L. Van Der Pluym, 22, for battery at Moretti's, 220 N. Randall Road. Van Der Pluym of Lake Zurich was released on bond.
