Area Woman Injured in Rough Landing of Hot Air Balloon at Golf Course

A 93-year-old Cary woman was injured when the hot-air balloon she was riding in got blown off course Friday night and the pilot was forced to land on a Huntley golf course where winds dragged the balloon nearly 40 feet, according to the Daily Herald.

Before the balloon landed at Pinecrest Golf Course, 11220 Algonquin Road, the basket was dragged and knocked over and came to a rest near the clubhouse around 8:20 p.m., according to the article. The elderly woman was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
