UPDATE: 2 Huntley Men in Critical Condition; Algonquin Woman Killed in Crash

The crash occurred west of Huntley on Tuesday night.

A Huntley man is in critical condition Wednesday night following a one-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 20-year-old Algonquin woman. 

Megan E. Hartigan, 20, of Algonquin was killed in the crash that occurred  in the 14600 block of Marengo Road in Huntley at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. 

Jonathan J. Lombard, 21, of Huntley, was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin following the accident. Lombard was in critical condition Wednesday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Ryan W. Hanks, 18, of Huntley, was taken to Provena Saint Joseph's Medical Center in Elgin. The Daily Herald reports Hanks was listed in critical condition Wednesday afternoon. 

The name of a fourth occupant in the car, a juvenile female, was not released by the McHenry County Sheriff's office Wednesday afternoon. That girl was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office released the names this afternoon of two men injured in a one-vehicle crash west of Huntley on Tuesday night. 

Jonathan J. Lombard, 21, of Huntley, was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin after the accident that occurred in the 14600 block of Marengo Road in Huntley at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Another occupant of the car, Ryan W. Hanks, 18, of Huntley, was taken to Provena Saint Joseph's in Elgin.

Another occupant, Megan E. Hartigan, 20, of Algonquin was killed in the crash.

The name of another occupant in the car, a juvenile female, was not released by the McHenry County Sheriff's office. That girl was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin after the crash.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office released more information this morning regarding the fatal crash that killed one area woman Tuesday night and left three other people injured. 

After the accident that occurred west of Huntley, Megan E. Hartigan was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock, where she later died, according to a McHenry County Sheriff's Office press release. 

Three others in the car at the time of the accident were taken to area hospitals. The sheriff's office is not releasing additional information on the identities of those injured at this time. 

The accident occurred in the 14600 block of Marengo Road in Huntley at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. 

A preliminary investigation found the four occupants were in a 2004 Hyundai traveling west on Marengo Road when the car went off the road to the north and into the ditch, according to the press release.

The car struck a culvert and rolled over. All the victims were ejected from the car. 

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office Traffic Crash Investigation Unit is looking into "elements that may have contributed to the crash," according to the news release. 

The sheriff's office also is trying to figure out who was driving the car at the time of the accident and is asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call the sheriff's office at 815-338-2144.

A 20-year-old Algonquin woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday night at the intersection of Seeman and Marengo roads just west of Huntley, according to the Northwest Herald. 

Megan E. Hartigan died at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock Tuesday night following the crash that occurred around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday in unincorporated Coral Township, according to the NW Herald article. 

In total, there were four victims in the vehicle and the Northwest Herald reports the Marengo Rescue Squad took two male victims to an area hospital and the Huntley Fire Protection District responded with two additional ambulances. 

It did not appear any of the victims were wearing seat belts and all were ejected from the vehicle, according to the NW Herald. 

Earlier this year, a 19-year-old Huntley woman died in a crash just two miles west of where Tuesday's fatal accident occurred.  

Jennifer M. Kearns was ejected from the vehicle following at 8:06 p.m. on Feb. 23 and pronounced dead at the scene.
