Algonquin Woman Dies Following Traffic Crash

The accident happened Tuesday evening at the intersection of McPhee Drive and Pyott Road.

A 45-year-old Algonquin woman is dead following a traffic crash in Lake in the Hills that occurred Tuesday evening.

The woman’s name is being withheld pending notification of her family, according to a Lake in the Hills Police Department press release.

The crash occurred at 6:27 p.m. near the intersection of Pyott Road and McPhee Drive. The driver of a 2009 Nissan traveling north on Pyott Road crossed the  centerline colliding with a southbound 2008 Chevrolet, according to the release. The Nissan then drove off the road striking a fence and tree.

The Algonquin woman was a passenger in the Nissan. She was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Nissan was treated at the scene and the driver of the Chevrolet, a 51-year-old Carol Stream man, had moderate damage to his vehicle.
