Algonquin Police: Local Man Arrested for Battery; DUI Arrests

Algonquin Police Department reports for Aug. 5 through Aug. 10.

Driving While License Suspended: Algonquin Police arrested Ivan M. Arbina, 41, at 12:12 p.m. on Aug. 5 at Randall Road and Corporate Parkway for driving while license suspended and no proof of insurance. Arbina, of 7920 Ridgefield in Crystal Lake, was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court on Sept. 4 in McHenry County. 

Retail Theft: Algonquin Police arrested Michael A. Sipolt, 51, at Kohl's, 734 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, at 3:51 on Aug. 7 for retail theft. Sipolt was released on a notice to appear and is next expected in court on Sept. 25 in Algonquin. 

Battery: Algonquin Police arrested Scott C. Schaefer, 41, at 2 N. Main St. in Algonquin, at 1:59 a.m. on Aug. 8. Schaefer, of 410 Linn Ave. in Crystal Lake, was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court on Sept. 11 in McHenry County. 

Retail Theft: Algonquin Police arrested Viviana Medrano, 18, at JC Penney, 800 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, at 4:12 p.m. on Aug. 8 for theft. Medrano, of 34 Aspen Lane in Carpentersville, was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court on Sept. 5 in McHenry County. 

Retail Theft: Algonquin Police arrested a 17-year-old Hampshire girl at JC Penney, 800 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, at 6:18 p.m. on Aug. 9 for retail theft. The girl was referred to the try-county area peer jury and then released to the custody of her mother. 

Retail Theft: Algonquin Police arrested Nicholas J. Spagnola, 20, at Walmart, 1410 S. Randall Road, at 7:43 p.m. on Aug. 9 for retail theft. Spagnola, of 605 Red Coach Lane in Algonquin, was released on a notice to appear and is next expected in court on Sept. 25 in Algonquin. 

DUI: Algonquin Police arrested Patrick W. Luehring, 25, at Harnish Drive and Sawmill Lane in Algonquin at 1:12 a.m. on Aug. 10 for DUI, failure to yield that right of way, DUI Over, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana. Luehring, of 1731 Westbury Drive in Algonquin, as released after posting $250 and his Illinois Driver's License and is next expected in court on Sept. 18 in McHenry County. 

DUI: Algonquin Police arrested Leopoldo Ruiz, 35, at 4:28 a.m. on Aug. 10 at Route 62 and Harrison Street in Algonquin for DUI, DUI Over and driving in the wrong lane. Ruiz, of 127 Pueblo Road in Carpentersville, was released after posting $100 and his Illinois Driver's License and is next expected in court on Sept. 18 in McHenry County. 

Retail Theft: Algonquin Police arrested Magdalena Zieba, 33, at Kohl's, 734 S. Randall Road in Algonquin, at 12:35 p.m. on Aug. 10. Zieba, of 10957 Greywall Lane in Huntley, was released on a notice to appear and is next expected in court on Sept. 25 in Algonquin.
