Algonquin Police: DUI, Retail Thefts, Aggravated Battery

Police reports from April 6-7.

 

Note: The following information was obtained from Algonquin Police Department arrest reports. An arrest is only an accusation and does not constitute guilt. An individual can only be found guilty in a court of law.

DUI

Zachary J. Trent, 34, of 4180 Bunker Hill Drive, Algonquin, was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence over the legal limit of .008, improper lane use, illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to reduce speed, according to police.

He was taken into custody at Bunker Hill Drive and Gillingham Court on April 6. Trent was released after posting $100 and his Illinois driver’s license with a court date of May 15 in McHenry County.

Retail Theft

Suranji S. Edirisinghe, 36, of 1 Baronet Court, Lake in the Hills, was charged with retail theft on April 6, police said. She was taken into custody at734 S. Randall Road, and released after posting bond. Edirisinghe was given a May 15 court date in McHenry.

Helen E. Rodriguez, 19, of 430 Tuscany Dr., Algonquin, and Maura Escobar-Hernandez, 29, of 403 Garfield, Harvard, were both charged with retail theft at 1410 S. Randall Road on April 6, police said. Both were released on a notice to appear with a court date of May 29 in Algonquin.

Hajnalka Ion, 42, of 3210 New Market Avenue, Carpentersville, was charged with retail theft on April 7, according to reports.  She was taken into custody at Kohl’s, 734 S. Randall Road. Ion was released on a notice to appear, with a court date of May 29 in Algonquin.

Aggravated Battery

Alexander P. Serafin, 18, of 2307 Loop Road, Algonquin, was charged with resisting a peace officer and two counts of aggravated battery on April 7, police reports stated.  He was taken into custody at 2307 Loop Road.  He was transported to Kane County Jail, to await a bond hearing.
