Algonquin Police: DUI, Retail Thefts

Police reports from the week of April 19-21.

A 14-year-old Sleepy Hollow boy was taken into custody April 19 at Kohl’s, 734 S. Randall Road on a retail theft charge, police said. He was released on a notice to appear with a court date of May 29 in Algonquin.

Luciano T. Rodriguez, 27, of 2009 Berkshire Circle, Carpentersville, was charged with driving under the influence, no valid driver’s license and improper lane use on April 20, police said. He was taken into custody at Algonquin Road and Compton Drive.  He was released after posting $300, with a court date of May 22 in McHenry County.

Ellen M. Scranton, 18, of 734 Hickman Lane, Woodstock, was charged with retail theft, police said. She was taken into custody at Wal-Mart, 1410 S. Randall Road on April 20. She was released on a notice to appear, with a court date of May 29 in Algonquin.

A 16-year-old Huntley girl faces a retail theft charge, police said. The girl was taken into custody at Wal-Mart, 1410 S. Randall Road, on April 21. She was referred to the Tri County Area Peer Jury and then released into the custody of her parents.
