Algonquin Police Chief Touts Importance of Preschool in Preventing Criminal Activity

The Northwest Herald reports on a conference call among state law enforcement officials.

Algonquin Police Chief Russ Laine joined other state law enforcment officials on a conference call last week to tout the importance of state preschool funding, according to a Northwest Herald article. 

Preschool programs are important in preventing criminal activity and in teaching children how to properly socialize with others, according to the article. 

Representatives from Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Illinois referred to a study "that found that by the age of 27, at-risk kids who did not attend Perry Preschool in Michigan were five times more likely to be arrested," according to the Northwest Herald.
