Algonquin Police Blotter: Nov. 23-27

Nov. 23, 2011

  • A 16-year-old Lake in the Hills boy and a 17-year-old Algonquin boy were arrested at Walmart, 1410 S. Randall Road, each on a charge of retail theft. Both were released on a notice to appear, with a court, date of Dec. 28, in Algonquin.
  • Luis D. Romero, 18, of the 1000 block of Perry Drive, Algonquin, was arrested at Walmart, 1410 S. Randall Road, on a charge of retail theft. He was released after posting $150, with a court date of Dec. 28, in McHenry County.

Nov. 25, 2011

  • A 17-year-old Lake in the Hills boy was arrested at West Algonquin and Crystal Lake roads on a charge of unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. He was released on a notice to appear, with a court date of Dec. 28, in Algonquin.

  • Fabian Almanza, 26, of the 500 block of Waco Lane, Carpentersville, was arrested at Lake Drive South and West Algonquin Road on charges of DUI, DUI over, improper lane usage and no proof of insurance. He was released after posting $100 and his driver’s license, with a court date of Jan. 4, 2012, in McHenry County.
  • Carolita R. Kielbasa, 39, of the 200 block of Biltmore Court, Martinez, Ga., was arrested at Route 62 and Eastgate Drive on a charge of driving while license suspended. She was released on a personal recognizance bond, with a court date of Dec. 28, in McHenry County.

Nov. 27, 2011

  • A 16-year-old Carpentersville boy was arrested at Main Street and Huntington Drive on charges of no valid driver’s license, curfew violation and no seat belt. He was released on a personal recognizance bond, with a court date of Dec. 28, in McHenry County.
  • Martin Cervantes-Escobedo, 23, of the 1600 block of Maple Street, Elgin, was arrested at Huntington Drive and Main Street on charges of no valid driver’s license and no seat belt. He was released after posting $150, with a court date of Dec. 28, in McHenry County.
  • Mauricio Ortiz, 20, of the 400 block of Addison Street, Elgin, was arrested at Huntington Drive and Main Street on a Kane County warrant for failure to appear on a possession of marijuana charge. He was released after posting $500, with a court date of Dec. 14, in Kane County.
  • Hans W. Nelson, 41, of the 1-99 block of East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at Algonquin Road and Main Street on charges of DUI, improper lane use, suspended registration and expired registration. He was released after posting $100 and his driver’s license, with a court date of Jan. 4, in McHenry County.
