Algonquin Police Blotter Dec. 9-11

The following arrest information was supplied by the Algonquin Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 9, 2011

  • Ashley Powell, 23, of the 400 block of Jefferson Street, Elgin, was arrested at Wal-Mart, 1410 S. Randall Road, Algonquin, for retail theft. She was released after posting $150 and has a scheduled court date in McHenry County Jan. 18, 2012.
  • Francisco Abitua, 18, of the 400 block of Harrison Street in Algonquin, was arrested at Route 62 and Sandbloom Road for driving while license suspended and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released after posting $150, with a court date of Jan. 11, 2012, in McHenry County.
  • Tina Thorington, 37, of the 900 block of Dawn Court in DeKalb, was arrested for retail theft at Kohl’s, 734 S. Randall Road.  She was released after posting $150, with a court date of Jan. 18, 2012, in McHenry County.
  • Amanda Stratton, 25, of Marengo, was arrested for retail theft at Kohl’s, 734 S. Randall Road.  She was released on a notice to appear with a court date for Jan. 25 in McHenry County.
  • Kenneth P. Cox, 53, of the 500 block of Danbury Drive, Cary, was charged with arrested for driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, and following too closely. He was taken into custody in the 300 block of N. Randall Road and was released after posting $100. Cox has a court date of January 1, 2012 in McHenry County.

December 10, 2011

  • Amy E. Rausch, 34, of the 1400 block of Millbrook Drive, Algonquin, was arrested for driving under the influence, no proof of insurance and improper lane usage.  She was arrested at Randall Road and County Line Road and was released after posting $100 and her Illinois driver’s license. She has a court date of Jan. 11, 2012 in McHenry County.
  • Ashleigh Knoerlein, 27, of the 1100 block of Silverstone in Carpentersville was arrested for driving under the influence and disobeying traffic control signal.  She was arrested at Route 62 and Route 25.  She was released after posting $100 and her Illinois driver’s license, with a court date of Jan. 18, 2012  in McHenry County.
  • Daniel M. Ash, 21, of the 100 block of Barnes Road, Elgin, was wanted on a warrant out of Elgin for failure to appear on a criminal trespass to land charge.  He was arrested in the 600 block Lake Plumleigh Way when he was unable to post bond.
  • Brian J. Simpson, 49, of the 2900 block of Cobblestone Drive, Crystal Lake, was charged with DUI, DUI Over and Improper Lane Usage.  He was taken into custody at Haverford Drive and White Oak Drive.  He was released after posting $100 and his Illinois Driver’s License, with a court date of Jan. 18, 2012, in McHenry County.
  • Crystal Lake resident Trevor Long, 19, of the 100 block of East Street was charged with possession of cannabis at Randall Road and County Line Road.  He was released on a notice to appear, with a court date of Jan. 25, 2012, in Algonquin.

  • Algonquin resident Nicholas Jenkins, 23, of the 10 block of Brian Court, was wanted on a warrant from McHenry County for failure to appear, on an expired driver’s license charge. He was arrested at Huntington Drive and Stoneybrook Court and was taken to McHenry County Jail upon being unable to post bond.
  • Forty-seven-year-old Robert L. Chase of the first block of Huntington Drive in Algonquin was wanted on a warrant from St. Charles for leaving the scene of property damage accident.  He was taken into custody on Huntington Drive by the St. Charles Police Department when he was unable to post bond.
  • Mount Prospect resident Jonathan Ortiz, 20, of the 1100 block of N. Boxwood Drive, was arrested for retail theft at Wal-Mart in the 1400 block of S. Randall Road.  He was released on a notice to appear, with a court date of Jan. 25, 2012, in Algonquin.
