Algonquin Police: Algonquin Man Arrested for Domestic Battery

Algonquin Police Department reports for July 26 through Aug. 4.

Felony Theft: Algonquin Police arrested Brandon R. Smith, 17, at his home at 721 Webster St. in Algonquin at 3:51 p.m. on July 26 for felony theft. He was taken to McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing. 

Driving While License Suspended: Algonquin Police arrested Leonel Salazar-Reyes, 26, at 6:33 p.m. on July 29 at Route 62 and Hubbard Street for driving while license suspended and unsafe equipment. Salazar-Reyes, 12 Robin Road in Carpentersville, was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court on Aug. 28 in McHenry County. 

Retail Theft: Algonquin Police arrested Nicole A. Lampasano, 39, at 4:04 p.m. on July 30 at Walmart, 1410 S. Randall Road, for retail theft. Lampasano was released on a notice to appear and is next expected in court on Aug. 28 in Algonquin. 

DUI: Algonquin Police arrested Slawomir D. Koltuniuk, 42, at 6:15 p.m. on July 30 at Route 62 and Route 25 for driving under the influence and driving while license revoked. Koltuniuk, of 629 Grace Drive in Lake in the Hills, was released after posting $300 and is next expected in court on Sept. 4 in McHenry County. 

Wanted on a Warrant: Algonquin Police arrested Nello J. Lucchesi, 56, at 9:44 p.m. on July 30 at Mimi's Cafe, 2561 N. County Line Road, on a warrant out of McHenry County for failure to appear on a battery charge. He was also wanted on a warrant out of Kane County for contempt. Lucchesi, of 502 Greensview Drive in Algonquin, was released after posting $1,000 on a McHenry County warrant and is next expected in court on Aug. 7. He was released after posting $350 on the Kane County warrant and is next expected in court on Sept. 10. 

No Proof of Insurance: Algonquin Police arrested Alfonso Gonzalez-Vazquez, 53, at 10:15 a.m. on July 31 for no valid driver's license and no proof of insurance at 100 S. Randall Road. Gonazlez-Vazquez, of 4208 Cretwood Lane in McHenry, was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court on Sept. 4 in McHenry County. 

Possession of Marijuana: Algonquin Police arrested Steven O. Varela, 18, at Sandbloom Road and Bolz Road at 12:24 a.m. on Aug. 1 for driving while license suspended, following too closely, failure to signal, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Varela, of 225 Highland Ave. in Algonquin, was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court on Sept. 11 in McHenry County. 

Retail Theft: Algonquin Police arrested William R. Fischer, 20, at Plato's Closet, 1481 S. Randall Road, at 1:53 p.m. on Aug. 1 for retail theft. Fischer, of 1831 Deer Haven Drive in Crystal Lake, was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court on Sept. 4 in McHenry County. 

Domestic Battery: Algonquin Police arrested Christopher M. Shppard, 34, at the Algonquin Police Department, 2200 Harnish Drive, at 9:50 a.m. on Aug. 2 for domestic battery and unlawful interference with reporting a domestic battery. Sheppard, of 430 Diamondback Way in Algonquin, was taken to Kane County Jail to await a bond hearing. 

Retail Theft: Algonquin Police arrested Brian C. Hernandez, 25, at 5:11 p.m. on Aug. 4 at Randall Road and Harnish Drive for retail theft. Hernandez, of 701 Mohican Trail in Lake in the Hills, was released after posting $150 and is next expected in court on Sept. 4 in McHenry County.
