Accident at Algonquin and Frank Roads Knocks Out Power to Traffic Signal

A 20-year-old Carpentersville man received a ticket for failure to yield while turning left, and a Huntley man, 20, needed medical transport to a hospital for injuries.

A two-car crash near Algonquin and Frank roads Wednesday night sent one car into a utility box, knocking out power to a traffic light signal, the Northwest Herald reports.

The crash occurred at about 7 p.m. when a car traveling east on Algonquin Road attempted to turn left onto Frank Road when the traffic light was yellow, the Herald reports. A car traveling westbound proceeded through the intersection at the same time, and the two vehicles collided.

A 20-year-old Huntley man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A Carpentersville man, also 20, was cited for failure to yield while turning left and having no proof of insurance, the Herald reports.
