2 Dead After Plane Taking Off From LITH Airport Crashes

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

Two people are dead after a plane that took off from the Lake in the Hills Airport crashed in south Central Wisconsin, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The plane--a Cessna 150--crashed around 6:30 p.m. Sunday about 15 miles southwest of Baraboo, Wis., said FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory. 

Rescue crews located the wreckage around 11 p.m. Sunday.

The destination of the plane is not known at this time. Cory said the pilot was using visual flight rules and not in communication with area air traffic control.
