West Dundee, IL  – Certified antique appraiser Michael Jones will conduct verbal appraisals from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 15 during The Heritage Fest Antiques Show.  It’s  at Grafelman Park, Fifth Street north of Main Street (Ill. Route 72,) West Dundee, approximately one 1 mile east of Spring Hill Mall. Appraisals are $7/item. Jewelry and oriental rugs will not be appraised on site because they require extensive research. Jones owns Michael Jones & Associates, Hebron, IL.

A 34-year veteran antiques dealer, Jones is a graduate of the Certified Appraiser’s Guild of America (CGAG) and Missouri Auction School. Clients such as Turner Classic Movies, The Everly Brothers and Dolphin Electronics are among his more notable auctions.

Furniture restoration specialist Bill Morse will demonstrate chair caning and seat restoration during show hours both days.

The antique show is a feature of the 16th Annual Heritage Fest, northern Kane County’s top-rated admission-free family-oriented community festival which attracts an estimated 8,000 visitors. See details at www.wdundeeheritagefest.org. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Activities include a Battle of the Bands, live entertainment, fireworks display, food and libations from area restaurants, pancake breakfast, classic auto show, ice cream eating contest, chili cook-off, children’s activities and more. Free shuttle service is available from Spring Hill from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

The Heritage Fest Antiques show is produced by Art of the Heartland, Inc. which also sponsors The Heritage Fest Arts and Crafts Show featuring some 90 artisans who set up their booths along West Dundee’s scenic Fox River.  The family owned company also offers several other prestigious Fox Valley shows including The Country Folk Art Festival, Autumn on the Fox and Christmas on the Fox.
