Poll: Chowdown Showdown Pizza Challenge

Vote for your favorite pizza place among this week's Chowdown Showdown finalists in the poll below.

For this week's McHenry County Patch Chowdown Showdown, we asked readers where their favorite place in the county is to get a great slice of pizza.

We got a lot of feedback — .

There were five restaurants that garnered the most votes and are this week's finalists: , Pinemoor in Crystal Lake, , and Lou Malnati's Pizzeria in Crystal Lake

You can cast your vote for your favorite among the finalists by submitting your answer in the poll below.

Voting will continue through 12 p.m. Friday. Check back first thing Saturday morning to find out if your restaurant has been chosen as this week's Chowdown Showdown Champion for having the best pizza in the county.

After you've voted, be sure to tell us in the comments' section below why your favorite pizza place is the best. And if you think there is a restaurant we missed in this week's Chowdown Showdown, let us know in the comments below!

Thanks Brett! A lot of people have let us know they are big fans of Buddyz pizza — I am going to have to get out to try it!

Lou's has good pizza, no doubt, but it would be an utter shame to see a national chain take out the local restaurants.

Well, Dorothy, there is still time for a local spot to come back! You can pass this article along to your family/friends or share on any social media you might have to encourage others to vote.

Sal's in Algonquin Tops them all.

Could not agree more Ed! Sals has the best pizza by far. Everything from authentic chicago style deep dish to xtra thin Ny style. Sals is definitely a hidden gem!!

Looks like I missed it earlier, but Sals in Algonquin is great! I'll need to try Buddyz.

East Side Joey has the best pizza by far. Owner originally worked at Gino's in Chicago. East Side Joey uses ANICHINI SAUSAGE, the sausage used by the originals in Chicago: Gino's, Malnati's, Pizzeria UNO and DUE.

Bad location and waaaayyy expensive for soup and salad. Especially after the menu change earlierRead More this year. And I was a loyal customer before that. Too bad. Wonder if they will open in another location?

I am very disappointed. I bought a groupon recently and I redeemed it at the store, but they gaveRead More me a gift card for the remaining balance. What do I do with this gift card now?
