LITH Patch Coverage for Wednesday, Feb. 1

One-Year Anniversary of Historic Blizzard

What a difference a year makes.

Last year at this time, news reports warned of an upcoming blizzard. It was a much different story as everyone was abuzz Tuesday over the unseasonably high temperatures.

Last year's blizzard dropped over 20 inches of snow on much of the Chicago area between Feb 1 and Feb. 2, 2011. High wind gusts created massive snowdrifts and made travel nearly impossible for many.

We went through our archive to pull photos we took and reader's submitted, which captured the historic storm.

Check back to www.lakeinthehills.patch.com Wednesday morning for a full story.

The Goddard School in LITH Opens Yoga Studio

Yoga for kids? And for infants?

That has been the case at The Goddard School for some time now. Yoga is a part of the daycare facility's curriculum and is taught to students as young as 6 weeks old.

The Goddard School in Lake in the Hills recently opened a yoga studio and Lake in the Hills Patch visited to take pictures and learn more about why Goddard believes yoga is important for its students. We also captured a ton of cute photos of kids showing off their yoga pose.

Check back to Lake in the Hills Patch Wednesday morning for a full article and photo gallery.

The Chowdown Showdown Finalists Are In

This week we are in search of the best place to get a sub sandwich in McHenry County.

We've gotten a lot of feedback on which restaurants and/or sub shops are your favorite. Check back Wednesday morning to see who made the cut and to vote for this week's champion.
