Nadine Bordwell, 82, of Algonquin

A memorial visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014.

Nadine Bordwell, 82, of Algonquin, passed away on Dec. 26, 2013.

She was born Nov. 5, 1931, the daughter of Clarence “Bud” and Ethel Dickman in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Nadine was an early member of the staff at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minn. She supported the college, one of Minnesota’s largest, for 27 years.

Following Normandale, she moved to Algonquin to be near to her family and continued working at McHenry County College.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters, Jonelle “Joni” (Joel) Palmer and Connie (Michael Hutter) Bordwell of Vienna, Virginia; grandchildren, Alex Palmer, Andrea Palmer, and Caitie Hutter of Escalante, Utah; her former husband, A.C. Bordwell of La Crosse, Wisconsin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, located at 100 Hansen Rd, Algonquin, at 11 a.m.

A memorial visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Normandale Retirees Scholarship Fund at Normandale Community College, 9700 France Ave S., Bloomington, Minnesota 55431.
