Dennis M. Kay, 77, of Lake in the Hills

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Route 176, Crystal Lake.

Dennis M. Kay, 77, was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Chicago and passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, in Sycamore. 

Dennis worked for Time Warner for 31 years as Central Region Field Operations Manager for the printing and distribution of Time Magazine, Sports Illustrated, and People Magazine. 

Dennis was a member of the American Legion, River Grove Moose Lodge, and a longtime member of the Huntley Senior Club and Lake in the Hills Senior Club.

He enjoyed playing his piano and was an avid collector of John Wayne memorabilia. He also cherished the time he spent with his only grandson, Preston Alexander, his pride and joy. 

Dennis was united in marriage to Judy Kalinsky Jan. 9, 1965, and spent nearly 49 years together. He is survived by his wife, son Alan (Cheryl), and his grandson Preston Alexander. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Edward Kolodzinski and his brother, Dr. Elmer Kay, DDS. 

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Route 176, Crystal Lake.

Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake, where there will be visitation for one hour prior to mass.

Entombment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Memorial Masses in his memory.
