Visit Exciting Venues this Fall with MCC's Trips & Tours Program

Take a break from the same old grind and enjoy a day trip to Chicago for browsing and lunch or get into a festive mood with a Fireside Christmas musical or visit the Christmas Around the World exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry.

The following day trips are accepting registration:

Best of Chicago: There’s something for everyone on this trip, from food to antiques to art. Visit an auction house and learn the auction process from the open bidding to the sound of the final gavel, stop at a furniture warehouse displaying country furnishing from all over the world and visit the studio of a Chicago artist for a behind-the-scenes tour.  Lunch is included at a Chicago culinary school. Top this tour off with a visit to a local truffle and caramel company. Trip takes place from 8:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 and costs $129.  To register, use trip ID: NST S15 007.

A Fireside Christmas: Each year Fireside's Christmas offering has become, without question, the most popular and sought-after show of the season with its beautiful, original and entertaining musical that is filled with inspiration and love. This year’s show has a new look, new music, new choreography, and a new cast of performers. Trip takes place from 8:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24 and costs $109.  To register, for use trip ID: NST S24 011. Register by Oct. 22.

Christmas Around the World: This exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry began in 1942 as a salute to American allies during World War II and continues to be a cherished tradition in Chicago. Trees from around the world are decorated with a wonderful variety of ornaments representing the culture and holiday traditions of each country, including St. Lucia Day in Sweden, Chinese New Year and Winter Solstice. Lunch is included at Ann Sather's, a lively neighborhood restaurant, followed by a stop at an ethnic neighborhood bakery and deli. Tour takes place from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11 and costs $99.  To register, use trip ID:  NST S12 011.
