Frigid Cold to Hit During New Year's Holiday

The New Year's Eve holiday will be frigid as temperatures are expected to drop this week. 

There will be a high of 9 degrees on Monday and wind chill values are expected to reach a low of -20 degrees. There is a 30 percent chance of snow after 3 p.m.  

During the day on New Year's Eve there is a 40 percent chance of snow. There will be a high of 13 degrees with wind chill values of -14 degrees.  West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph. Snow is likely New Year's Eve night. There will be a low around 10. 

It will be cloudy with a high near 24 on New Year's Day. Snow is likely.
