Handing Out Coats to LITH, Algonquin Children

Hearts of Gold Winter Coats project

Several area kids will have a warmer winter thanks to Hearts of Gold.

This past Saturday, 46 girls and boys from newborn to 5th grade received new winter coats and snow pants.

Members of Hearts of Gold and volunteers sorted and tagged the newly purchased items at the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District headquarters for the children of families with financial difficulties in Lake in the Hills and Algonquin.

The Winter Coats project is one of our three main projects, besides school supplies and the Heart to Heart Christmas project where families and seniors receive assistance with clothing, food and basic necessities.

The Heart to Heart Christmas project will begin this week with our giving trees being set up at various locations throughout Algonquin and LITH.
