Listen To Your Mother was born of the creative work of mothers (and fathers!) who publish online. Each production is directed, produced, and performed by local communities, for local communities, with a percentage of ticket proceeds benefitting a local non-profit cause. Beginning with one show in Madison, Wisconsin in 2010, five different cities hosted LTYM shows in 2011, then ten in 2012, 24 in 2013, and 32 this year! LTYM has become a sensation that is sweeping the country (and internet world) in the handful of years it has existed including a special piece documented by NBC Nightly News with Janet Shamlian. The Chicago cast of fifteen local writers will read their essays on Sunday May 4 (a week before Mother’s Day) at the Athenaeum Theatre and the performances will be video-recorded for future placement on LTYM’s YouTube channel. With topics ranging the entire spectrum of Motherhood, LTYM Chicago 2014 will touch hearts and move souls. The show will be co-produced by Wells and Becker, and ten percent of the ticket proceeds will be donated to Recovery on Water, a Chicago charity that supports women in their emotional and physical recovery after battling breast cancer.  http://recoveryonwater.org/

Tickets are on sale NOW  and can be purchased online at athenaeumtheatre.org or by phone at 773-935-6875.
