Trial for Prostitution Case Starts Today

Two Lake in the Hills women are expected to appear in McHenry County Court.

The trial for two Lake in the Hills women accused of enticing a 14-year-old Kansas girl into prostitution is expected to start this morning. 

Antwanette Atkins and Kari Knox face charges of child pornography and charges of juvenile pimping and juvenile servitude.

They are expected to appear before Judge Joseph P. Condon today in McHenry County Court. Jury selection is slated to get underway at 9:05 a.m.

In December of 2009, Atkins and Knox were living with Donald R. Jones, 53, of Lake in the Hills, when Jones met a 14-year-old Kansas girl online, allegedly drove to pick her up and brought the girl back to his home.

Jones is accused of taking pictures of the girl which he then posted online as an advertisement for an escort service.

According to allegations, Atkins and Knox both played a role in enticing the girl into engaging in commercial sexual activity. 

Jones is next expected in court on Friday at 9 a.m.
